Can you believe it is the end of Term One already? It barely feels like we begun the school year and we are already one quarter of the way through it. As we draw toward the end of Term One, it may have been short in length, but it was huge with what we have done.
On a personal note, I want to thank the Balga community for the very warm welcome I have experienced throughout the first eight weeks. Seeing the P&C fundraising during the recent election was excellent and I thank all members of the P&C and staff group that helped support us on this day. I see the P&C and the involvement of our parent group as a really important step for the ongoing growth of our great little primary school.
As we near the end of Term, it would be remiss of me not to recognise the people I work with every day. Thanks very much to all of them for making a smooth start to the year and helping me out with the multitude of questions I have been firing their way. We truly have the most awesome staff here at the school and I am blessed to be working with such a passionate, professional and effective group of people. I am very optimistic and excited about where we can take the school over the coming years and can’t wait to go on this journey with them all.
Term One has been great! Our recent Harmony Day celebrations were an absolute highlight. I loved seeing the different cultures of the world represented with the kids dressing up on the day. The assembly held on that day provided us with a great opportunity to see all the students as part of a parade. They all looked absolutely fantastic! Thanks very much to Miss Burke and the Student Councillors for organising and running our assembly on the day. Also, thanks to Miss Dempsey-Lees for organising the Harmony Day Art competition and arranging prizes for all the lucky winners.
Squeezing all things into a term that was only eight weeks means the students, parents, carers and the staff are very much looking forward to the holiday break. Please ensure you rest up and re-energise ready for a bigger and longer Term Two (11 weeks).
If the first eight weeks are a representation of the rest of the year, we are in for an amazing 2021.
I wish all families the very best over the upcoming Easter and holiday period. Please ensure that you spend it with the ones you care about the most and cherish the time you have with one another.
Much Love

Balga Friday Markets
A huge THANK YOU to the folks at the Balga Friday Night Markets for their very generous $1,000 P&C donation.
The Balga Community Association Inc. which trades as the Balga Friday Market, has been making donations to local school P&Cs and junior sporting clubs for many years, from the proceeds raised by our community volunteers operating at the Balga Friday Market. The amount they are able to donate to these different organisations each year is dependent upon how well the Balga Friday Markets perform so please get behind them and support them where you can.
