Principal Update

Dear Families

As we begin to move into the second half of the term, it is wonderful to see our school re-engage in our community events. Although we maintained our connection throughout the major restrictions, I am grateful that we are now able to connect in a more significant manner. The reintroduction of assemblies has been pleasing, and I thank the community for making the effort to attend last week.

Star Gazing Evening

I would like to thank Mr Schultz for organising the Star Gazing evening being held on Wednesday 2 September at 17:30.  Notes are coming home this afternoon with all students.  This will be a great opportunity to engage in activities involving hobby rockets, telescope observations, and viewing fossils and space rocks.  There will also be a free sausage sizzle, so please return the RSVP so we can cater for the correct numbers.

Please click here to download the permission form if yours does not make it home safely

I would like to remind you that we are still required to follow the necessary social distancing and hygiene practices as per Department of Health guidelines.

Early School Closure – Parent Teacher Interview

On September 1 2020, Balga Primary School will be closing at 11.30am to conduct parent/carer interviews. These interviews will give you and your child’s teacher the opportunity to discuss their progress, learning goals and needs based on their Semester One Report.

Each parent/carer will be given a 10-minute timeslot and interpreters will be provided where needed. Teachers will make contact with you to arrange times.

Please ensure that your child is collected from school promptly at 11.30am on this day.

Please contact your child’s teacher, Mrs Lawrence or the school office with any queries.

Jeans for Genes Day

The staff and students of Balga Primary School took part in Jeans for Genes Day on Friday 7 August 2020.

We are very proud to advise we raised a total of $140 which will contribute to funding the vital work being done in the labs at the Children’s Medical Research Institute.
